Mr. Shafer has been involved in the surveying and engineering profession for over 40 years. He is a 1969 civil engineering graduate of Iowa State University. He received his professional license as a Land Surveyor in 1974 and his professional engineering license in 1974. He has worked with R.H. Renwick and Associates in Ottawa, Illinois, McClure Engineering and Associates in Ottawa, Illinois. He has also served as the Putnam County Engineer for the last 24 years. He previously owned and operated Shafer Engineering and continues to serve in an advisory role at Illinois Valley Surveying and Consultants.
